On December 10, 2009 it was announced that Arena Football One (AF1) obtained the rights to the Arena Football League (AFL) after a bankruptcy court auction granted the purchase of AFL assets.
Regretfully, the Utah Blaze logo and trademarks were not owned by the Ken Garff Automotive Group, but instead owned and collateralized by the now bankrupt AFL. Moreover, attempts to reacquire and to repurchase our Utah Blaze marks post-bankruptcy have regrettably failed in spite of several assurances and verbal commitments made to us over the past 30 days.
Please know that neither the Ken Garff Automotive Group not the Garff family has any direct or indirect affiliation with this new AFL1 league or the new Utah Blaze ownership group or team.
To our loyal fans, business partners, employees and friends of the media, please accept our sincere and heart-felt thanks! The Ken Garff organization will continue to explore future arena football opportunities that merit the same high quality entertainment with which our community has become accustom.
