79 Utah Students Received New Bikes During Ken Garff for Good Reading Celebration May 28

79 Students Receive Free Bikes from Ken Garff for Good
Additionally, 23 Read-A-Thon winners received $1,000 scholarships
Elementary school students from across the state were awarded for reading through Ken Garff for Good’s Literacy Initiative, which aims to improve literacy skills for K-6 students by incentivizing daily reading. Families gathered at the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium as volunteers loaded bikes into their vehicles. They also had the opportunity to enjoy the aquarium, have snacks and drinks, take advantage of photo opportunities and meet-and-greet with New York Times bestselling author Brandon Mull.
Through Ken Garff for Good’s “Bike Giveaway Reading Challenge,” students who read at least 1,800 minutes from October 2025 – March 2026 were entered into a drawing and one student from each of the 79 participating schools in Utah was randomly selected as a winner. Additionally, during the annual my529 Read-A-Thon contest, held from April 1- May 1, one top-reading student from each of the 23 participating school districts was randomly selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship account, courtesy of my529.
