Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Programs take the risk out of buying a previously owned vehicle. A Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle–or CPO–is a used car that has been certified by a manufacturer or another certifying authority. Every manufacturer has its own certification process, but each requires vehicles to pass an extensive inspection list with between 110 – 300 points and that has to be completed by a certified mechanic. Vehicles will also generally come with a full CARFAX Vehicle History Report so that new owners can see exactly what work has been done to the vehicles and the accident reports. Each manufacturer includes additional benefits like: extended warranty, special financing, 24-Hour Roadside Assistance, and other similar benefits depending on the specifics of the manufacturer.
