Hamer Stores – Homeless Veterans Hygiene Kits
Hamer Honda and Toyota employees wanted to serve the veterans in their community for some time. They identified a need in their community, helping unhoused veterans, and brainstormed a way they could have a meaningful impact. Employees assembled hygiene kits for unhoused veterans and distributed them at a local VA campus. In addition, they had a BBQ lunch catered and distributed the hygiene kits and lunches at their local VA. The Hamer Honda/Toyota dealership was transformed to complete this project and employees gathered to produce the lunches and hygiene kits. Employees distributed 100 male and 100 female hygiene and 200 lunches and worked within their immediate community to show what it means to be here for each other throughout a difficult time. Unhoused veterans suffered from the pandemic and it is important to continue to look for opportunities in our communities to help where we can. The Hamer employees modeled this through this project and dedication to following through with an idea. We’re grateful for the chance to give back, especially to those who have been hit hard by the pandemic. We’re grateful for the Hamer employees and their willingness to show appreciation to those in their community.
