Long Beach Honda – Tree Lighting

This year we sponsored the Tree Lighting ceremony at our city hall in Signal Hill, there was a great turnout and our volunteers from Long Beach Honda did a great job. While we were there, we had a chance to speak with a few members of our city council and Police department. They all thanked us for our involvement with the community (fresh off the Honda shuttle van donation to the Long Beach women’s shelter earlier this year).

We let them know we also partner with the “Long Beach Community Table” every year around the holiday season assisting with a food drive and volunteers to help make and distribute the weekly bags delivered to the local homeless and less fortunate in the Long Beach area.

This year, thanks to Crystal Espinoza’s great idea, we decided to put a “Women’s Empowerment” spin on our donation so we contacted Kristen (Project Director at the shelter). She loved the idea and gave us a list of women’s hygiene products they desperately needed. Our next stop was to the local COSTCO in Long Beach!

Thanks to Sarah Lovett’s help with product selection (and pushing heavy carts all over Costco), we loaded up several carts full of supplies and went to the distribution center warehouse.
